Six Injured as Chemical Plant Explodes in France
The industrial incident occurred at the Elkem Silicones production site, where half a dozen workers sustained injuries from the explosion, sources confirmed. Among the casualties, three employees face life-threatening conditions due to extensive thermal trauma.
Judicial authorities have launched a formal probe into the matter, with charges framed as "unintentional injuries caused by a legal entity resulting in incapacity exceeding three months," according to reports.
The prosecutor's office has assigned joint investigative authority to both the specialized organized crime division and the departmental directorate for employment, labor and solidarity to establish the root causes and exact circumstances surrounding the blast.
